of our Midnight Sun Festival
The program for this action-packed summer solstice weekend includes all the favorite events and activities from previous years including the annual Fire & Ice Creek Race, Iceland's biggest international kayaking event. Beyond the whitewater, this is a gathering of great people united by a love for the river, exciting competition, prizes, live music, food, drink, camping, and unbridled mid-summer celebrations!
FRIDAY, JUNE 30th – Midnight Rafting
(20:00) @ Viking Rafting.
The festivities kick off on Friday evening in traditional style with an overnight rafting trip down the legendary canyon section of Jökulsá-Austari (East Glacial River) where we take on all the same world-class rapids and stunning scenery that most only get to do by day.
SATURDAY, JULY 1st – Fire & Ice Creek Race, Festival Celebrations
10:00 @ Hörgárdalur
The show begins on the Hörgá river with our intermediate category competitors, with a finale on the waterfall section of Barká where the pros take to the air.
19:00 @ Viking Rafting
BBQ. We round up at Viking Rafting for cold beers, BBQ, prizes, live music, DJ & dance floor!
Basic Festival Pass – 5.000 ISK
Includes access to all of the festival events on Saturday evening (July 1st, 2023), including BBQ and live music.
Optional Add-ons (select during the booking process)
- Midnight Rafting on the East Glacial River (June 30th, 2023) – 21.990 ISK
- Competition entry, intermediate and pro categories (July 1st, 2023) – 3.000 ISK
We are excited to continue both our intermediate and pro categories in this year's Fire & Ice Creek Race, as a way of promoting inclusion and friendly competition for keen paddlers of all levels of experience.

Registration fee: 3.000 ISK (includes transport and logistics to join our Midnight Rafting trip in your personal watercraft).
